Psychoanalytic Association

The Psychoanalytic Association of WCSPP was formed for the purpose of fostering the development and interests of WCSPP. It is comprised of faculty, graduates, and candidates from the four year psychoanalytic training program who pay annual membership dues to the Association. Application for affiliate membership to the Association is also accepted from graduates of other accredited psychoanalytic training programs. The Association sponsors a range of professional activities including scientific meetings that are open to the public, and informal workshops throughout the year for members. Additionally, for members, the Association holds an annual weekend retreat organized around a professional theme. Together with WCSPP, the Association publishes a semi-annual newsletter. The Association has full membership in the International Federation of Psychoanalytic Societies. An annual directory lists all current members.

For the Public, the Association:

Annual dues entitle graduates of the four-year psychoanalytic program, candidates presently matriculating in the program and faculty, to full membership.  Applications for membership from graduates of other accredited psychoanalytic training programs are also accepted for review by the Board.

The Association is guided in its mission by its By-Laws and executive officers who are each elected for two year terms.  The Association’s partnership with the training center (WCSPP) is enhanced through its three liaisons, each elected for three year terms and participate with the Center’s Curriculum Committee, the Faculty Selection Committee and attend general Faculty Meetings.
