Candidates Association
|
The Candidates Association is comprised of current candidates enrolled at the Institute. The mission of the Candidates Association is to promote interaction and collegiality among candidates, to facilitate candidate involvement in the Psychoanalytic Association, to provide peer advisors to new candidates, and to facilitate the flow of communication between candidates and faculty as well as between candidates and the Psychoanalytic Association.
Each class elects a class representative annually. The entire body of candidates elects a president each year (usually a 4th year candidate) for a 2-year term. The president sits on the executive board of the Psychoanalytic Association during the first year. The following year this person (now past president and usually a graduate) becomes liaison to the Candidates Association and acts as a mentor to the new president. This position occupies a general board seat.
